Don’t let Winter ruin your perfect hair game.

Winter can be harsh on our tresses. Whilst we are super lucky in Sydney to have such beautiful winters days that are (let’s be honest) quite mild, our locks can easily stress out from the change.

Dehydration in the cooler months is the main cause of winter hair woes.

Just like with our skin, the harsh weather during winter takes its toll on our hair; think brittle fly-aways, dry scalps and a serious lack of moisture.

When the heat is on in our offices and homes, we strip this moisture pretty quick which ends in frizzy, dry and damaged locks.

Don't worry, though, there are ways to beat bad hair days when the weather is less than appealing. Here are some of our top tips for winter.

COLOUR-

With the changing of the seasons, you'll probably want to change your hair colour.

Spice up your look with a colour and cut to suit the season. Colour has never been more IN.

Be bold, be vibrant and kick the winter blues with a shade that compliments your complexion and personal style. Our experienced stylists are here to help you sort your seasonal shades with expert advice and guidance.

Don’t forget to protect your colour with superior moisture and protection.

We love R n Co Gemstone shampoo and conditioner. Gemstone is great for anyone with color-treated hair. It is specially formulated to protect and preserve your hue.

MOISTURE and SHINE

Static, frizz and fly-aways.

These things come standard in winter but they can be banished.

Our go to for these nemesis? Tinsel smoothing oil. It’s pumped up with Argan Oil, Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil to soften and nourish the hair.

Tinsel works to improve manageability and shield your locks from environmental aggressors whilst providing thermal protection. It’s our fave smooth operator and is perfect to combat dry, brittle, winter hair.

Try these other winter companions too:

Palm Springs Pre-Shampoo Treatment Mask

A soothing cocktail of oils, butters and extracts it deep conditions, strengthens and adds tons of shine to help hair look and feel well-rested and ready to go back to the grind.

It’s awesome for damaged or dull hair that needs a bit of recharge.

If you have fine or thin hair, Analog Cleansing Foam Conditioner is for you. It's light as air yet packs a moisture punch. Heavy conditioners can weigh down fine hair leaving it limp. Analog works to weightlessly soften and condition with sweet ingredients like Argan Oil, Green Tea, Horsetail Extract and Nettle Leaf Extract. Rich in antioxidants, it fortifies the hair’s strength and luster.

STYLE

Turn down the heat a little this winter and opt for some softer styling techniques that your hair will thank you for.

The Low pony. Sleek or messy, it’s a winner. With the added plus of accesories being on trend, this style is easy to pull off.

The half up half down, knot top is still making the rounds and we still love it.

The flip.

Sexy, shiny, and full of body.

The tossed-to-one-side style has made a comeback, both on the runways and red carpet—with a lot less products and teasing.

Natural locks are on trend too, which seems hilarious considering how much effort is placed into achieving said “natural” looks, but it simply means working with what you've got and enhancing your hairs own natural beauty. No matter what type of hair you have, natural locks are having a moment this year.

Don’t forget to keep up the regular trims and treatments this winter too.
